Diane Szoke
General Manager, New York
Diane did not have to travel far to get to the offices of Wood. She was born and raised
in Manhattan directly across from Carnegie Hall.
Diane started her artistic career as a professional singer. She was a recording artist,
made a video, and slugged her way through the music business in New York City. Jimmy Ienner,
the president of MCA Records, described her as "the most impressive voice since Sam Cooke."
She soon developed an interest in the technical side of the business, and moved into production. Her
production experience includes a tenure with well-known film producer Gabriel Katzka,
and credits on hits like "The Falcon and the Snowman" and "The Beast Within."
Diane honed her organizational, diplomatic, and financial skills as executive assistant to
the head of property development at Penn Central, contributing to the rebirth of Grand Central
Station as well as managing all east coast Penn Central property development. When Penn
Central relocated to Cincinnati in 1988, she found a home at Wood where she puts her unflappable
presence and sense of humor to good use, along with her unique business skills, artistic abilities,
multicultural background, and technology expertise.
